Egyptian National Day celebrated at Expo 2020 Dubai

The Arab Republic of Egypt celebrated its National Day at Expo 2020 Dubai on 30th October 2021, bringing the world under one roof at the glamorous Al Wasl Square. The event was graced by senior dignitaries and government officials including Egyptian Prime Minister, Mostafa Madbouly and Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Commissioner-General of the Expo 2020 Dubai.

Sheikh Al Nahyan expressed his gratitude and excitement in Egypt’s participation in the Expo, highlighting how much the Egyptian pavilion truly expresses the country’s civilization, history and culture. Commissioner-General of the Expo 2020 went on to emphasise the invaluable investment opportunities the United Arab Emirates has with Egypt and the fantastic cooperation shared between the two countries.

During his keynote address, Egypt’s Prime Minister, Mostafa Madbouly remarked how much the Egyptian government is actively involved in its participation in the Expo. Going on to state that the country is willing to attract foreign investments to the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) and he is confident that this will bring about the desired great opportunities.

Egypt has plans to hold 90 seminars and workshops during the duration Expo 2020, with 3 business forums on the Suez Canal.

Mrs Nevin Gamea, the Minister of Trade and Industry in Egypt emphasised that Egypt’s participation in the Expo 2020 Dubai would serve as a great opportunity for the promotion of joint work between the two countries to achieve sustainable development.

A large concert was organised by PepsiCo to celebrate the Egyptian national day with popular Egyptian singer, Amr Diab wowing crowds at the Jubilee Theatre as he entertained all with his unique music offering.

The Egyptian pavilion - found at the Opportunity District - showcases a miniature version of the country and this has attracted a lot of visitors since the beginning of the Expo in early October, however the Egypt national day celebration introduced many more visitors to the pavilion.
