The DRR event will look to harness some of the continent’s leading minds in the field of climate change, disaster risk and reduction, to further bolster the steps taken in managing extreme climate risks across the African continent.
The spotlight on Africa -DRR event will be held on the 13th of October, will showcase Africa’s efforts on disaster risk reduction with focus on linking MHEWS to early action through innovative disaster risk financing.
The event will feature: · ongoing establishment of continental MHEWS situation for natural hazards;
· ARC’s Africa RiskView; · need for paradigm: from single-hazard disaster management funds to Multi-hazard disaster risk management funds.
